De tijd dat Plan Zuid van Berlage werd gebouwd, de tijd van de opkomst van het socialistische gedachtengoed, aandacht voor gelijkheid, emancipatie, educatie, natuur, mens en dier. Hildo Krop is de stadsbeeldhouwer van Amsterdam met meer dan 400 beelden in de stad. In zijn kunstwerken verbeeldde hij deze onderwerpen. De rondleiding voert tevens langs de beelden van Krops tijdgenoten. Een tour die je niet wilt missen!

  • Rondleiding van 1,5 uur met professionele kunsthistorische rondleider met spraakversterker

Hildo Krop clearly claims the leading role, but his contemporaries also carried out wonderful commissions for private clients. Take a guided tour with one of our enthusiastic art historian guides. They will take you through Berlage’s Plan Zuid, past buildings, public gardens, squares and bridges, and tell you surprising facts about the sculptures in Amsterdam Zuid. A tour you do not want to miss!

On Sundays we offer an easily accessible guided tour along the the Plan Zuid district of architect H.P. Berlage. The abundance of sculptures in the public space in this area is very impressive; if you pay a little attention, you’ll see it everywhere! The Amsterdam city sculptor Hildo Krop clearly demands the leading role, but his contemporaries have also carried out wonderful assignments for beautiful private buildings in Plan Zuid. Everyone is welcome to participate! Come along and be surprised by the stories behind the sculpture of Amsterdam Zuid.
